Roscoe Tanner Tennis Clinic, a 2-day clinic is set for Saturday and Sunday, March 23 and 24, 2024. The clinic will encompass the mechanics of serving including stance, location, stroke, contact point, toss, and follow-through, creating weight transfer. Roscoe will cover placement, types of serve (flat, slice, kick), and when to use it. He will also have a section on volleys and net play, so that players will learn to serve and volley. In addition, upper-level players will get instructions on tournament plays and different techniques to prepare for tournaments.


1. Saturday March 23 —9:00am to 11:00am – Himmel Park Tennis Center (LEVEL 2.5 – 3.0)

2. Saturday March 23 —-4:00pm to 6:00pm – Himmel Park Tennis Center (LEVEL 3.0 – 3.5)

3. Sunday March 24 ——9:00am to 11:00am – Himmel Park Tennis Center (LEVEL 3.5 – 4.5)

4. Sunday March 24 ——4:00pm to 6:00pm – Himmel Tennis Center (LEVEL 4.0 – 5.0)


The format of the clinic would be a 2-hour session. In addition to the clinic, Roscoe would give a talk on “The History of Tennis”, current players, and his own personal stories. He will also be available for book signing of his book, “Double Fault”. All players should bring their tennis racquets, two cans of balls, their drink of choice for hydration, and wear proper tennis clothing. Any additional equipment for the clinic shall be provided by the clinic organizers.
